Audrey,
I am very glad the seminar went as I suspected it would, excellent!  Your scores were 6.8 for speaker effectiveness and 6.7 for content value, both out of a possible 7, these are excellent scores for one of our veteran educators, let alone a first timer.  I have posted my evaluation on our private chairman’s page and look forward to sharing this with my colleagues at our conference next month.  Hope you had a pleasant trip home and thank you for an awesome day

  • My only complaint was the program was only 4 hours long. Such great hands on guidelines for ways to enhance our credibility through our communication style.
  • Audrey is such a professional and really knows communication. I especially liked the Code Switching Quotient self-assessment. It helped me identify the possible gaps in my credibility. This should be a required course for anyone who wants to be taken seriously!
  • I liked Audrey's stories. They help me relate to the points being made about how we communicate credibility. We were all engaged and wished the program was longer.

“Overall I think it was a very good training program….and she is an engaging presenter who knows her stuff.  I would recommend we use her again for communication oriented trainings. I liked the way she moved around the class-room to help keep folks engaged (although Boulder might have missed seeing her a bit?) She was very good with names – impressive really!  Only making 1 mistake that I heard with a large group….I aspire to that.

This was the first L3 session I have went to.  Overall, I thought Audrey was a great speaker – the hour and a half flew by.  Normally, I feel that trainings can drag on, not this one.  I really liked her animation and energy level.  She had great stories/examples to prove/show her point.  When I left the training, I was glad I went and I am planning on looking at her books because she spoke of things that are a great reminder to us all.”

Hi Audrey,
Thank you so much for being our DeltaDays Keynote speaker—you did a great job!  You handled the situation like the pro you are. We look forward to having you back on campus when another opportunity arises.  I wish you continued success and look forward to seeing more of your work.  Be sure to let me know if you haven’t received your check by the end of the week.

Audrey conducted The Art of Conscious Communication for EKS&H. The following feedback from participants was provided by Christine Voss, Learning and Development Senior:

I loved it! I’d be interested in taking more of her courses.”

“I just wanted to express again my thanks for the session this morning with Dr. Nelson.  I actually found it to be one of the most valuable training sessions I have attended in a long, long time; and would have had no trouble spending a full day learning from her.”

“I thought she did an amazing job of being fun, providing real live stories, very practical reminders.  I found the class to be extremely valuable and worth my time.  Great reminders as we head into busy season and forget to just pick up the phone or stop by someone’s office.”

“My main takeaway’s from the class are:

  1. Paraphrasing – I need to get better at it.  Practice pulling the two impact words from a person’s statement and repeat them in a form of a question to the speaker (e.g. from what I understand, you want $3,000 dropped from your bill and want additional five interviews added as a change order).
  2. Use voicemail more frequently.  While a face to face conversation is the best at conveying an idea and building trust, a phone call is second best.  Email/texting/FB’ing is the least effective method of conveying an idea or building trust.
  3. Before sending an email, reread it and determine, “could/would I speak these words if I was in front of my intended recipient?”
  4. My number one takeaway: While her children were growing up, Audrey kept the TV off on weekdays.  Neither of her children own a TV today.  I love it.

Hi Audrey

Comments from He Speaks, She Speaks: What Different Things They Say
Presented to Society of Human Resource Management:

  • Presentation was great! Wish it was longer. Best spent hour and a half.
  • Thank you! I really enjoyed the presentation. The biggest take away for me was the "fillers"..
  • Absolutely incredible! Great content. Excellent examples. Fantastic interaction.
  • I think all HR offices could benefit from this fresh perspective on communication.
  • I was hesitant to come today because I wasn't sure if it would be the blame game. It wasn't that and was informative and helpful. Thank you.
  • This was positive and thought provoking.

Hello Audrey,

Thank you again for that wonderful presentation today.  I was wondering if I could get a copy of the deck you used today.  I found the information that you provided very insightful and would like to review the information again.  Also, do you have any other presentations in Denver any time soon?  It was a pleasure to meet you.

What an excellent conference with real takeaways!  I feel like it helped add to my communication toolkit for a variety of situations.  Everyone in a professional setting – men and women alike should attend to better understand how to communicate and avoid unintended consequences of certain verbal and nonverbal communication styles.  I enjoyed the session from beginning to end.

  • Audrey's presentation was great! She left me wanting to truly commit to becoming an effective listener. I appreciated all of the gender comparisons she provided in regards to communication as well. The concepts on how to listen and communicate with the opposite sex will be helpful in both my personal and work life.
  • Listening to verbal and non-verbal cues is a big deal in our line of work with both customers and co-workers. I will work on making a habit of good, undifferentiated listening skills and communication skills across friends, family, co-workers and customers.
  • This session gave me concrete skills to understand and address communication weaknesses expressed in my 360. I will use the listening skills to enhance my effectiveness with individuals and in groups.
  • Good class. I would take it again.

I thought it was a great conference. I really liked that speakers were brought in from outside the company who could really make an impact and had relevant information to speak about and how to apply it to out lives. I absolutely loved Audrey Nelson's presentation (and breakout session) and could have listened to her all day. She was extremely impactful and very engaing in both presentations. I took so much away from what she was saying and plan to use in my day to day communication. I also picked up her book and plan to read it. I would love to see her come back to the national sales meeting as I think the males in the company could benefit from her presentation as well (or some variation of it). I would also like to hear other presentations from her as well.

Hi Audrey,
Thank you for your quick response.  We are still talking today in the office about what an impact you had on the women at the meeting.  One of my 30ish male colleagues asked what we talked about and I shared your comment that “women talk in code”. He looked at me like I had cracked the Rosetta Stone.  It was hilarious, but he then acknowledged that he never seemed to get it right.  I think we need a Part II with you and our men.

Many thanks for your materials and references and thanks, too for taking the time to chat with me about this.  It was a pleasure to meet you, too.

Thank you for enriching my life.

Audrey Nelson has mastered the art of "capturing the room" while also engaging the participants before they even realize it! Her polished delivery draws you in while also educating, entertaining and improving the communication skills of the audience. Her dynamic seminars will leave a lasting positive improvement on the participants and I highly recommend her, whether your organization is looking to tweak or completely transform its communication style.

With regard to the book, The Gender Communication Handbook: Conquering conversational Collisions between Men and Women,:

Audrey addresses gender differences in a straight-forward and unapologetic manner. She reveals tendencies in gender communication that we all inherently "know" but, to our own detriment, sometimes ignore. The reader becomes conscious of subtle differences in gender communication styles that will hopefully prevent misunderstandings later in business and, more importantly, in life.

Thanks!

Greetings Audrey,
In November I was in your Victors Without Victims course in Monterey as a part of the FCC Services LDP course.  Just the other week I received my follow up to self ‘five nuggets’ letter that you have us write.  I just want to say that I think this is an excellent practice. It’s a great way to revisit  what we learned and what we found valuable that day.  All too often we get back to work, cram the conference binder in the bookshelf with the others (with good intentions to review ‘when I’ve got time’, of course…) and never see it again.
This simple reminder really did cause me to revisit some important things I learned that week.  Just wanted to say thanks.  Hope all is well with you.

Although there were a couple of technical difficulties at the start, I appreciate your understanding as we worked things out. I was also glad that we had a great question and answer session. Audrey Nelson is a funny and engaging speaker.  She has a way of explaining communications phenomena that is humorous and insightful.  Her assessment of communications and our failure to give communications the priority that it deserves is very compelling.  I especially love that she is willing to call out the differences in the ways women and men communicate as well as Gen X and Y behaviors.   She is interesting and motivating!

Audrey –
Thank YOU so much for such a fantastic presentation!  We had a packed house – standing room only and the presentation was so good that all the ‘standers’ stayed the entire hour.  I didn’t get an official count but we had well over 80 people in attendance which is about double our normal turnout.
Even better is the feedback I have received since the presentation.  A number of those in attendance came to me personally to request more of your presentations and I’ve received emails as well to the same effect.

Victors without Victims: 90 Ways to Manage Conflict for a Positive Outcome

Dealing with conflict quickly and calmly to keep the situation positive for all parties is of utmost importance. Learning the different types of handling conflict and learning what the other person is can help alleviate the conflict quicker with better results.

It's important to recognize that doing nothing is actually doing something. By doing nothing about a situation you actually may be reinforcing the situation.

A lot of info will be applied right now between coworkers and also with member borrowers. Great information. Wish I would have had it earlier.

The information Audrey presented was very helpful in that it provided techniques for handling conflict better. It is helpful to know our own style so we can take a step back and make sure our style isn't contributing to the problem at hand.

All of the feedback that I’ve received thus far, is extraordinary.  Many of the women thanked us for finding you and bringing you to campus.   Thank you for appearing at Bridgewater State University.   It was a pleasure to assist you.

Audrey, I just wanted to provide some feedback on the training you have provided our emerging leaders through the FCC Services LDP1 program.  Over time I have noticed a trend.  When past LDP1 participants refer to the most significant things they learned in that program – things that have made a significant impact on them professionally – your name comes up consistently!  Your training provides new insights and helps participants understand communication from different perspectives – things that inspire people to make changes that help them communicate more effectively.
So thank you for making a difference in our organization!

First of all, thank you for a vey informative and entertaining class at Stanford. I attended the Victors without Victims Class and purchased the CD set and the two books.
You are welcome to use my comments for your newsletter and I can add to them. Your class should be mandatory for everyone. You presented practical information that can be easily applied to anyone's work environment.
Normally I don't like audience participation but this class was so much fun and you made us all feel so comfortable. I just wish it hadn't ended so soon. Looking forward to the next one and can't wait to read the books, especially to learn how to talk so my husband will listen! Now if that happens, then you can consider yourself a success!

Thanks again,

Your Generation or Mine? Managing the Generation Mix

Dr. Audrey Nelson was fabulous. One of the best seminars I have attended.

Great seminar. Dr Nelson brought a lot of information forward I was unaware of.
I loved the retro of the different generations.

I recently attended one of Audrey’s (Dr. Nelson’s) training seminars in Denver, Colorado covering generational management issues in the workplace.  I found the session to be extremely helpful to me in understanding the dynamics of managing multi-generational workers in a complex work environment.  Her mix of humor, case studies and educational content was perfect for the large class Dr. Nelson was teaching.  Many of the interactive breakout sessions provided both helpful information, and the ability to connect with professionals from other industries.
I would highly recommend Audrey as a trainer and speaker, and look forward to attending another of her sessions in the near future.

The Art of Conscious Communication

  • Audrey is very intelligent and has great useful information. Excellent stuff that will be very useful
  • I will use the tools learned to be a better listener. Removing distractions, maintaining eye contact and not formulating my response before the other person is finished talking. Remembering just how different male/female communication is.

Audrey’s feedback from the webinar for Inventyourfuture on Code Switching: How to Talk so Men will Listen

What one learning did you take away from today’s webinar?
I liked the early specific example of how you respond of your idea is ignored and then someone says pretty much the same idea later on. How you could deal with it was a really great approach I'll use if that happens to me again. (Team Lead, Apple)

To beware softening requests ‐ sometimes we don't realize we've done it until after the fact. (MarketingManager, Symantec)

I learned that the "mode" I should be in most of the time should be assertive. That was a very good take away. This was a great topic! I think I want to listen to the replay because I suspect that I will pick up another good tip. (Project Manager, HP)

How to handle interruptions in meetings, and how to take back the floor (Finance Dept, Apple) It was pretty enlightening and made me feel more conscious when dealing with women at work or elsewhere.

Also some of the issues discussed apply in general and not just to women (in multicultural setup as the speaker mentioned). Not to be taken for granted at work place, and standing up for yourself, and speak up when it matters. (Functional Analyst, Apple)

Hi Audrey,
Now that I’m back in the office wanted to quickly send a more proper response.  I just wanted to say again that it was also a real pleasure working with you also.  Your passion for what you do was evident at every program and it really made a difference to our audiences.  To do what you do, for as long as you have done it – and still have this kind of passion for it – requires a genuine love of people, which always came through in your talks.  I consider this to be one of the most successful speaker programs I’ve been involved with and I hope that we cross paths again one day as well.
Thanks again for everything -

Hi Audrey,

I came across your blog "He Speaks, She Speaks" in Psychology Today as I was surfing for information -- a study, book, article -- on the theory that women have a hard time saying "no" to requests from family, friends, co-workers etc.  The "we want to be helpful, all things to all people, make sure people like us" kind of thing.
ALSO, having just discovered you I'm now a fan of your column (and books and YouTube videos) and would like to stay in touch.  We're always on the lookout for guests and great topics and you would be wonderful!
I looked at your site and it's uncanny how you're describing the communications dynamics in my household to a "t.".  I can't wait to get my hands on the book.

Thanks in advance for your help and interest,

Hi Audrey.

A quick but heartfelt note of thanks for your fascinating conversation on last week's Real Women on Health! show.  I can tell you I've already put into practice some of the tips you provided.  Here's a link to the show if you'd like to listen or share on your blog.

We will stay in touch -- thanks for your offer to be a resource -- and hope we'll have an opportunity to have you join us again.  Til then, happy travels.  We know one topic we can't wait to cover is your visit to Korea!

Fantastic class! Thanks for bringing Audrey to us!
Course is great. Need more than one day. I need this information.
I would like more time to hear more.

I hope you come back and speak again, I really enjoyed when you spoke at one of our luncheons a few years ago.  In fact, I still have your He Speaks/She Speaks card on my desk and since then I have purchased one of your books for further reading on the subject.  It has totally helped me as I work with engineers and that is primarily a male-dominant field.

Dear Dr. Nelson:
I wanted to thank you again for presenting on March 3rd to the 10th Annual Women’s History Luncheon co-sponsored by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Women in Science, Engineering and Mathematics Program (WISEM) at Colorado School of Mines. You did such a great job of talking about gender communication in a way that everyone, from our students to the President, could understand and appreciate.
This was one of the largest Women’s History Month Luncheons with over 230 students, faculty, staff and NREL employees in attendance. So many people thanked me for bringing you to campus-you were a big hit! They have particularly commented on your ability to make this topic interesting, entertaining, and informative.
Again, thank you for making the 2010 Women’s History Lecture Luncheon such a great event. I hope our paths cross again in the future!

  • Great  information. Thanks for the code switching tips.
  • I can apply this to work and home. It was great. Thank you so much for providing insights into male-female communication.

Thank you Audrey.  I thoroughly enjoyed our time together on air.  The book is great.  There are so many ways to change, to switch your coding!  I have begun already to use them.  My kids are an amazing experiment.  They are the only kids I have so it's hard for me to imagine parenting a singleton.  Having two girls and a boy gives us the opportunity to see the very real differences that exist between the genders.  For example, my son was walking around today with underpants on his head while his sisters were taking turns doing math problems.
It was very good of you to join us Audrey.  Thank you again.

Audrey, I was able to begin your book today, and it is just fantastic!
It's like discovering a whole new very important world that I didn't really realize existed.  What has been so powerful for me is having been able to talk with you, see your website, hear your voicemail message, in addition to reading your book.  You embody the message in your book.  There is a consistent underlying message of "Listen to me," "I am worth listening to/It is
important for you to listen to me"  that I have never noticed before in the world.  So many more things make sense.

You have a message that is very important to get out, and I'm so glad you have written this book.  I'm looking forward to
reading more.

Thank you for writing this book!

I personally want to thank you for participating in the Authors'  Luncheon on Saturday.  I can't tell you how many women and even men fell in love with you that afternoon.  You were such a hit!!

The reason for this email is because women at my table and many, many more asked it you would be willing to do some form of a discussion group or whatever you would wish to do.  My personal friends said they could have listened to you for the entire luncheon.

Again, thank you with deep appreciation.

Sincerely,
Joyce Fischer

You contribute so much to the Forest Service leadership sessions (and to the agency in general)!  All around me, I hear how much others enjoy your presentations, and feel the same way myself.

  • Excellent.  I could listen to you all day.

  • Fascinating but to short.

  • Very interesting. The content has triggered many questions about my own perceptions (or misperceptions) of my coworkers
"I attended both of your presentations at Baird Holm. You were absolutely wonderful! I really admire you and everything you have done. Thanks so much for the wonderful keynote address you gave at the IABC Southern Region Conference.
Your talk rekindled in me my love of communication studies. I've been working in corporate communication doing mktg/PR for 10 years and have been struggling with "what's next." Although my current job helped me to earn my masters in communication... hearing about someone who has been so successful in communication has inspired me to start researching Ph.D programs.
Hoping our paths cross again. I'll be watching for you on Oprah!

Thanks again!

Dear Dr. Audrey:
I really, really thought your September 29 presentation was wonderful at the IABC Southern Region conference in Denver. You spoke so many truths….I have a co-worker who comes into my office and starts the conversation with, “Are you overwhelmed today?” My masculine side wants her to just tell me she needs help on a project, and I’ll figure out how to weave it in and get it accomplished. . I exited from your Denver session, told you how very, very much I got out of your presentation and then had to rush off to do my own presentation … before I could buy a copy of your book. Please help me overcome my sinful ways. Please tell me how big a check to write and where to send it. That was direct and masculine, but my feminine side told a story (above) first.
I thought enough of your presentation that I forwarded your bio information to IABC headquarters in San Francisco. And I’ve read all of the articles on your website today, too.

Thanks for your support and causing me to think.
–Connie Echard

I enjoyed meeting you and speaking with you yesterday and I look forward to reading your articles! I have to share with you-yesterday when I went to my appointment I was waiting and started talking to the manager (a male). I had the magazine in my hand and he asked, "Can I please look at that?” I said "of course” He pointed to the cover and said "I want to read the article on why women think men don't listen"!!!!

Once again, it was great meeting you.

This is a great class. I have taken this class before and every time I sign up, it gets better. Audrey you are a wonderful instructor. I am looking forward to future classes with you at Boulder County.

Audrey, thanks so much again for making the trek to Montana. Wow! Thanks for sharing some of the FS folks with your expertise. I am so energized by your knowledge and passion. I often ponder about your schedule and am amazed at your commitment.
I am looking forward to next year and hoping you will present your "fish"

Thanks again and see you next year.

Dear Audrey,

Thank you so much for your talk last night. I put your "yes, no, yes" principle into practice this morning when I replied to a client who wanted me to send her my training materials so that she could train some folks in MN. It felt really empowering to say yes to my needs, no to her request and yes to the relationship. Thank you so much for your inspiration!!

What a fantastic meeting. I have received so many nice emails about the energy in the room, and your “yes” sandwich was so helpful, I passed that on to Jenny this morning. You are simply amazing1 THANK YOU for your support!

Hello Audrey,

I wanted to congratulate you on a superb presentation last Thursday night at Boulder, BPW. What a great crowd we had!
It was the biggest crowd we had since I started as program VP last May! We totaled around 80 attendees.
You are just amazing and have such a great gift to relate to people and make them laugh.
I just adore you! I received so many favorable comments from the women. I hope you will come back next year to speak to us again.

Sincerely,

Dear Audrey,

I really enjoyed your seminar today, and I feel like the information you provided has given me perspective on how to manage some tough job and life issues I'm working on right now. I think the situation I'm trying to get a handle on is terribly complex and won't be solved quickly or easily, but I do have some new ideas to bring to the table. Thank you!

Thanks again for your lively and information seminar at Hewlett Packard in Fort Collins on October 9, 2007.
I really appreciate your time and attention. You're a gem!

When is your new book, She doesn't know Jack and he doesn't know Jill, due out? I'm anxious (first born child in me) to purchase a copy...

- Robyn Huston - Hewlett Packard

Thank you for the wonderful article you wrote for HR Success magazine (‘Go Home and Put on Some Clothes! Has Casual Friday Gone Over the Top?).I read it today when I received the magazine and could not wait to send you this note of appreciation.
I’m glad someone else is taking a stand on dr4essing like a professional! I’ll be showing this article to our management team so they can see that the dress guidelines we developed last year are right on the mark!
Again, thank you for taking a stand on this tough subject.

- Barb Buss - HR manager, Mesa County Libraries

Thanks so much for presenting at the BPW. I am well into the book and done with the first CD. Already picking up the phone more rather than email. Enlightenment is amazing.

I wrote this in my newsletter to my salespeople today giving highlights of the convention:

You Don't Say! Audrey Nelson was probably the most relevant to sales presenter there. Some highlights were "Email, what is not being said". I guess I need to pick up the phone more! The difference between the sexes. For example, us girls will write, "Have a nice weekend"starting on Thursday. Men are bored with that. I bought her book and four tapes, because communication is what it's all about. If we could get her to a Kaeser & Blair function (convention) it would be so amazing! Buy her tapes & books!
Again, sincere thanks.

Here's to your Success,

Dear Audrey –

I attended a Colorado Human Resources luncheon a short time ago and you were the guest speaker. I truly enjoyed your stories of success and suggestions for “dealing” with people and left there thinking – WOW – wish I could have her talk with our physician board. I am the HR Manager for a clinic with 21 physicians and 160 employees.

- Karen Oxenford, PHR - Human Resource Manager - Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center

Audrey,

I enjoyed your seminar today and left wanting more information. I took home a strong message that I am responsible for my life and pursuit of happiness. I rediscovered my own "difficult person" traits and identified the traits of those around me. I found the discussion about corporate values needing to include avoidance particularly insightful, especially in the reaction it received. I will be seeking more knowledge in the books you mentioned and in adopting some of your strategies.
It seems that we are more often than not surrounded by difficult people either autocratic dictators (starting with my father-in-law) to passive aggressive people (my guilt transferring mother) to those that we have to spend the majority of our waking hours with. Your presentation was excellent and enjoyable.

Thank you,
- David W. D'Ambrosio - Program Manager - Pipeline Integrity - Xcel Energy

Audrey
I just received a call from the leader of our “virtual” classroom team. She said that your presentation is the model of how web classroom meetings should be conducted. You did a superb job of getting everyone involved with your exercises and your presentation with its stories was OUTSTANDING!

Audrey, you have become the new buzz here at Xcel Energy. The women who attended your session have not stopped

Dear Dr. Nelson,
I had the pleasure of hearing you speak at last week’s Xcel Energy’s WIN seminar on dealing with difficult people. I got a lot out of it. I had already been practicing some coping skills and feel more empowered in my own ability to deal with annoying (if not difficult) people. I hope Vicki McCarl brings you back to discuss gender issues. I would definitely be interested in hearing your thoughts on that. I’m sure two hours won’t be enough to cover that topic. Please add me to your monthly newsletter. Thanks.

Audrey, Your Dealing with Difficult People training helped me as soon as I walked out of the classroom door. I have found myself thinking more and more about the payoffs that the difficult people in my life-circles expect and am being more adept at finding the right tools to cut off the payoffs. Recently I led the first meeting of a technical team of gas industry professionals - I am the chairperson of this diverse and too-large group and have already experienced several difficult conference calls. I am delighted to report that the meeting went off beautifully, and I owe much of my success in handling the situation to the skills I learned in your class - not being difficult myself but at the same time standing up for myself and my expertise, changing my previous responses to the difficult team members with tact and humor, and above all, being true to myself and my values. Thanks so much!

- Rosemarie Halchuk - Senior Gas Quality Engineer - Xcel Energy

Thank you very much for your valuable feedback.
Your suggestions will benefit me greatly! I can't thank you enough for your seminar and feedback. Best wishes for your future success!

Warm Regards,

I have tried to attend all of your speaking opportunities at both the Boulder and Denver Chamber events. I think you are a great speaker and I always learn something I didn’t think about before. Therefore, I would like to nominate you for the 20007 Small Business Sparks Award. Even if you don’t win, you will get some good publicity, so take a few minutes and let’s give you some well-deserved attention.

I want to thank you again for the absolutely wonderful and informative presentation you gave to the Boulder BPW members. The feedback we have received is all very positive and really made an impact. We are lucky to have a treasure like you in our community and truly appreciate your time.

- Wendy Reynolds - President, Boulder Business and Professional Women

It is Kim Ledger, I was at the FCS training in Spokane last week. I was sharing with my team leader how great you were. I told him several examples of the seminar. It was then I realized that he was getting and idea!
So now I am leading a 20 min session on communication, to our 20 person team… Background:
Our sales team is spread over 4 states we get together three times a year with our full team, which is mostly support staff in on main office, that work together daily. We are meeting the night before just as sales.
I thought this would be a good time to bring some awareness to the effect communication can have on us. Especially those of us that are spread out and rely on e-mail , cell phone ect... I thought your information was great, and I loved that you kept things moving for us.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

- Kim Ledger - Country Home Loan Officer - Farm Credit Services of America

Congrats Audrey! As usual you are Awesome Audrey. We are so pleased to have you on our LDP faculty and an educational partner within the Farm Credit system. Thanks for always giving your best for this program and to our people.

Warm regards,
- Cindy Knutson - Farm Credit Council Services

Thank you so much for presenting your program and coming to BPW. I hope everything went smoothly on your trip the next day.

The women could not stop talking about your program and the superb information your shared. The feedback from the evening was just excellent!
We also have some members that have personal situations presently that I hope will read your book, perhaps contract for personal coaching, and address their situations. The timing of your program at BPW was excellent.

As a BPW sister, you are welcome any time and we hope you will want to visit again for a monthly program in 2007. My sister and girlfriend received their books this week as birthday gifts - they are ecstatic! I did not buy one for myself and have it signed so would love to take care of this when you have time. I have a little something for you as well, so let me know when you might have some time in your schedule for coffee. I would much
rather provide this in person.

Audrey, our paths shall continue to cross for this I am certain.
- All my best, - Celia Krebs
Two minutes into the presentation I knew this was going to be the best class I’ve ever taken! Love your teaching style, tone, personal touch and how incredibly charismatic you are. Fantastic advice, content and observations. Love it. You were born to do this!

- Jodi Lemons - Staff RN - Ambulatory Treatment Unit - Stanford Hospital

I attended your presentation ...and enjoyed your material. You are a dynamic presenter with a great message. Having just started reading your book, I can already tell that it is both interesting and informative; this seems to be a rare occurrence in literature anymore!

- Tiffany Hill, MBA, PsyD

Your presentation on Gender Communication was well received by the attendees, earning a score of 8.9 on a scale of 10! The following are comments from the attendees:
“Audrey Nelson was outstanding. I don’t think I have heard a Ph.D. who was so grounded. I’d like to hear her for longer sessions.”

- On behalf of the California District Attorneys Association, thanks! - Jill Brusco

I found your class most informative. You will leave this world a better place than you found it. Thanks for all you do.

- Mel Stonebraker - He Speaks, She Speaks Seminar - Boulder County
Good course. Audrey is an expert. She knows how to interact with the audience and brings real issues to light. She identified the right words to use to diffuse a situation.
She is well prepared, organized and an energetic presenter! This was my favorite session. She has great wit and the ability to hold our attention.

-Victors without Victims: Managing Conflict for a Positive Outcome - Farm Credit Council Services

I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful, practical applications you brought to our conference. The feedback has been wonderful, and the attendees were really impacted! The only "complaints" were from the facilitators who were scheduled to present during the break out sessions you did and they could not attend yours!
I have enjoyed getting to know you personally, and have such great respect for you professionally. The more I think about it, I believe that our different fields have much more in common than in the differences. We both are observers and communicators who have been able to look at communication on many levels. I have often claimed that if one can really understand a two year old, they can understand anyone. Adults are just the same. They only have learned not to bite with their teeth, but bite with their words.

Thanks again for everything,
- Gayle Doughtery - National Coalition for Campus Children’s Centers

Thank you so much for coming and speaking at the Denver Chamber this morning. What you shared with us was wonderful. It will definitely help not only my business but also my relationship with my wife! I look forward to hearing you again.

- Dave Cook - LoDo Residential Mortgage

Audrey, I just wanted to thank you for such an amazing seminar you held for us today here in Tampa. I am a legal secretary for Butler Pappas and really enjoyed hearing you speak. While others may not think it, I feel I struggle every single day in my communication skills, on both a personal and professional level. It's very tiresome. My goal is to try and communicate properly while feeling confident in doing so. I'm hoping by reading your books and listening to your CD's I can accomplish that.

Thanks again,
-Francie Moschenik - Butler, Pappas LLP - Tampa, Florida
"Your name keeps coming up as a speaker people want to hear you again. We get that request all the time!"

P.S. Audrey will be the CHRA keynote October 18, 2006! Her topic is “Ouch that Hurts: Dealing with Difficult People!” Mark your calendars now!
Audrey,
I've already received a comment from a male engineer that you are definitely his wife's favorite of speakers at past Engineers Week Dinners and he and his wife are delighted that you will be speaking at our Engineers Week Dinner again this year!

-Connie H. King, Esq., P.E. - SWE-PPS Treasurer & PEC-PPC Vice President - Merrill, Anderson, King & Harris, LLC
I liked the examples of how the differences between men and women play out. The idea of gender flexing is very useful for folks in law enforcement, especially women! The video, power point presentation, handouts were all excellent. You know how to approach a sensitive topic with humor and powerful content. I like the way you slide the critical issues between humor. This was very interactive and informative. Lots to think about. You know your stuff.

"Dr. Nelson, Fifteen years ago I took the class He Speaks, She Speaks. It was by far the most important training of any kind that I have ever received. At the time I was both newly married and in a predominately male workforce. Your class not only helped me learn to adjust my communication style which helped me become more effective in the workforce, it brought a great deal of awareness to differences in communication styles between my husband and me. The understanding that came out of your class made what could have been a very painful experience of learning how to effectively communicate with each other not only easier but something we continue to find humor in to this day. - Fifteen years later I’m still in a male dominated workforce, still married and now a mother of a girl and a boy. Having a different perspective on life, I very much enjoyed taking your class again."

- Pam Hergett, Civil Engineer, United States Forest Service

-J. Koehler, Hewlett-Packard
“In the last four years of cross-cultural classes, Audrey’s gender communication class has consistently been our most popular offering. Every class is full and there is always a waiting list. I never have to worry about attendance. Audrey’s expertise in the field is evident from the beginning and it seems that participants can’t wait to recommend the class to their co-workers. We are fortunate to have someone of her caliber in our community.

-Peter Salas, Boulder County, Colorado

“Audrey Nelson is supremely qualified to tackle the difficult and sensitive issues around gender inequity. Her professional training and work in this area is unparalleled. Her approach is honest and straight forward-this is not work for the faint-hearted. She tells it like it is for there is no other road to evolution. She can identify blindspots and problem people in the organization and offer real life solutions. Her positive impact on the women’s community in our company was unprecedented. She gave us a voice where there was fear and silence. I would not hesitate to recommend Audrey Nelson.

-Laura Webster, Cirent Semiconductor

“I find Audrey’s teaching style, combined with her course content, to be a great opportunity to learn about the aspects of diversity. The information is presented in a non-threatening manner with useful tips on how to make adjustments in the way we behave to become a more homogenous workforce.”

-Jeffrey Rice, Lucent RE-USE Businesses

“Audrey Nelson’s presentation, “Speaking From a Position of Strength,” received rave reviews from our employees. Audrey’s style, expertise and professionalism were apparent throughout the presentation. She provided very worthwhile, common-sense tips which everyone appreciatiated and benefited from-terrific!”

-Jerri DeMar, IBM

-Dan Miller, Western Area Health Education Center

“Audrey’s presentation is the best I have encountered. Audrey’s delivery is logical, understandable and, most important, interesting.”

-Alana Robinson, Public Service Company of Colorado

“Audrey is certainly an expert in the field of diversity. Her breadth in the area is amazing and her abilities in the communication field are unmatched. Whether as a speaker or a leader in group sessions, she will help guide your organization through a cultural change process with a firm, but gentle hand."

-Robert Koch, Cirent Semiconductor

“Move over, John Gray, of Mars and Venus fame, Boulder’s own Audrey Nelson PhD is on the scene! On the snowy morn of February 11th, I had the unexpected delight and pleasure of hearing Audrey present a talk on nonverbal communication between the sexes. I laughed so hard I cried! Audrey’s entertaining and intelligent beat on the way we communicate is uproarious because it is so true, it hurts. Once again, I am wowed by another local hero and this one in the realm of communication, where we need it most!

-Cindy Morris, MSW

“[Audrey was] wonderful! People can’t stop raving! Thank you again, and I’ll call you soon to set up another meeting!”

-Carol Colon, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield

“Thank you for another superb presentation at last weeks PHMA “Putting Your Best Foot Forward.” I find the subject your train absolutely fascinating and could indulge in your coaching for days. I attended one of your communication between the sexes presentations at the PHMA in Louisville, which I know I mentioned to you. However, first off it was the quality of your presentation that initially made me realize it was you. I have always remembered that presentation and quote it to many I meet.”

-Ian Taylor, Professional Housing Management Association
"I had the distinct pleasure of listening to you at the recent Colorado Human Resource Association monthly luncheon. While I could apply any number of adjectives to my impression of your presentation the best I can come up with was---WOW! I would tell you that the caliber of speakers at the luncheon is above average in general. You raised that bar significantly."

-Timothy A. Engelhart, President, Engelhart & Company
"You were fabulous with the book discussion group. Many of the participants made an effort to tell me how much they enjoyed your interactive style. You are one of the most dynamic speakers I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. It was my honor to work with you and I sincerely hope our paths cross again. However, I would not want to face you as the opposing expert in a sexual harassment case. You would have the jury on the edge of their seats!"
